Violet is in her junior year at Westfield, an academically challenging (to say the least) private school. Even though she spends most of her time studying and virtually no time with cute Scott Walsh (her secret crush), life is good with her best friend Katie by her side. But when Katie starts doing risky things that Violet doesn’t understand, their friendship is jeopardy. Violet has worked too hard to succeed to fail at something so simple. But what can she do to help her friend get back on the “right” path?
This book was a fairly straightforward drama about friendship, boys, peer pressure, and the overachieving teen. It had some funny parts and the main character was endearing. I didn’t love it, but it was fine. I will recommend it to teen girls who like Sarah Dessen and the like.
